Alison’s paintings are not planned but instinctively develop as she builds up layers of acrylic glazes and inks on a prepared textural surface. Working from black and white photographs that she takes on her journeys, Alison uses the sculptural lines of the landscape as a starting point and then lets the flow of the paint take hold.

 

Her work is not representative of a specific place but allows the viewer to develop an emotional attachment to a painting through their own experiences.

 

Bio

 

Alison Hunt is an abstract landscape painter who works mainly in acrylics.  She is mainly self-taught in painting having had a creative bias throughout her education.   Her career in fashion buying allowed Alison to develop a keen eye for texture, colour, and form all of which manifest themselves in her paintings.  She retrained as a florist after leaving the fashion industry but found herself drawn to developing her career in fine art.  

 

Alison’s work has been bought by UK and international collectors.  She opens her studio annually for Surrey Artists Open Studios and has shown work in UK galleries and art fairs.
